Investment or Stupid Idea

I bought my daughter some glow in the dark silly bands..What is the big deal with these crazy things?

She says oh that's awesome mom I'm going to sell these at school tomorrow.

Me: Wait a long gigantic minute Say What? You're not selling them. I just bought them for you.

Her:  ok I won't sell them I'll just wear them to school and show my friends.

Me: yea I didn't fall off the stupid truck last night I don't believe you. You're not wearing them to school.

Her: please multiplied by 1000!  [no literally 1000 times] I lost my hearing after the 5th time.

Me: When you buy things with your own money you can resell them all you want. Fantastic. Case Closed.

Her: how much did these cost?

Me: $3

Her: Fabulous I'll give you $3 from my piggy bank and I'll resell them.

Me: do you plan to move to Wall Street tomorrow or sell cars? Seriously.

So we came home counted out $3 in change and waaa-laaaaah she's an entrepreneur.

Case Closed for real this time.

Sanity: A Treasure Thou Shalt Keep

Are you ever out and about and the kids are starving to be entertained? That's me about every where I go. I keep toys in the car for this very purpose. But sometimes we don't have any toys and my circus clown is showing her true colors! I've discovered these hand games to play when we have no toys...

Dance the Hand Jive

Take a trip back in time with this dance craze from the 1950s, made popular again in the late 1970s by the hit movie Grease. Kids love to learn it.

Here's how it goes:

1) Pat your thighs twice.

2) Clap twice.

3) Wave your hands, one over the other, in front of your chest. Then do it with the other hand on top.

4) Bump your fists twice, one on top of the other. Then do it with the other fist on top.

5) Point your right thumb over your right shoulder twice, then your left thumb over your left shoulder twice.

Play the song below and put it all together to the beat! Pat-pat-clap-clap-hand-hand-bump-bump-thumb-thumb!

Steeple People

This classic hand game for young children is easy to play and has a fun rhyme to say. Here's a refresher course if it's been a while.

Fold your hands together with fingers interlaced downward and hidden between your hands:

"Here is the church."

Raise your index fingers and point them together toward the sky:

"Here is the steeple."

Open your thumbs:

"Open the doors."

Keep your fingers interlocked and turn over your hands so your fingers are facing up. Wriggle them as you say:

"And see all the people!"
